Teak Cleaning & Restoration
Two-part professional teak cleaning that restores gray, weathered teak to its natural golden-honey color. Mobile service throughout Southwest Florida.
Our Teak Cleaning Process
Inspection & Prep
We assess teak condition, check for soft spots, loose bungs, and caulking integrity before any cleaning begins.
Teak Cleaner Application
A two-part marine teak cleaner is applied to open the grain and lift embedded salt, algae, and gray oxidation.
Soft Scrubbing
We scrub with the grain using soft brushes — never wire or abrasive pads that damage the wood fibers.
Rinse & Neutralize
The teak is thoroughly rinsed and the pH is neutralized to prevent acid damage to the wood and surrounding hardware.
Teak Oil or Sealer (optional)
A marine teak oil or sealer can be applied to protect the restored wood and slow re-graying. Discussed with you before application.
Final Inspection
We inspect every plank and photograph the completed work. Soft spots or structural concerns are flagged for your records.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my teak needs professional cleaning?
If the teak has turned gray, silver, or black, it has weathered and oxidized. Professional two-part teak cleaning will restore the natural golden-honey color. If it is still light tan, a maintenance clean may be sufficient.
Will teak cleaning damage the wood?
When done correctly with proper products and soft brushes, teak cleaning restores the wood without damage. Aggressive scrubbing against the grain or wire brushes will damage teak fibers — we never use those methods.
How often should teak be cleaned in Southwest Florida?
In SWFL's climate, teak should be cleaned 2–3 times per year to prevent deep graying and algae buildup. Boats in covered slips may need cleaning once per year.
Should I apply teak oil after cleaning?
Teak oil extends the time before re-graying and feeds the wood. However, teak oil requires reapplication every 2–3 months. Teak sealer lasts longer (6–12 months) but changes the appearance slightly. We discuss the best option for your vessel before applying anything.
Can you clean teak on boats in the water?
Yes. We are fully mobile and service boats in the water at your marina or residential dock. Teak cleaning does not require haul-out.
